"Fools Can't Surf." If only it were true. Some expats I know that run surf lodging in Nicaragua use this same tactic with their local kids: if you don't go to school, you can't ride the boards.
Here, Chris Dennis in Trinidad teaches kids over the weekends surf lessons and reading (surf magazines, of course). Via Surfer's Path, its a little melodramatic at first with all the sentimental music, but worth the wait to finally see the feral groms riding ragged, brittle, almost vintage boards, in unspectacular conditions, having pure fun.
